Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR)

Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR)
Interrogator

Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR)
(Medium data integrity level)
(high latency and low update rate)

Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR)
10. Two major issues of
current Technologies
GARBLED DATA
• Garbled
FRUIT
Multilateration Sensors (MLAT)
Multilateration Sensors (MLAT)
Automatic Dependant Surveillance Broadcast
(ADS-B)
•Refresh
•Air/Ground
(Time stamping errors)
•GPS 두절 (GPS outrage) 발생 가능
단점
Automatic Dependant Surveillance Broadcast
(ADS-B)
Automatic Dependant Surveillance Contract
(ADS-C, aka ADS-Addressed)
•Air/ground
(Time Stamping Errors)
Automatic Dependant Surveillance Contract
(ADS-C, aka ADS-Addressed)

28. Two Issues of Multiple Sensor Tracking
A. Tracking continuity and integrity issues
Other contributors to false target reports are those encountered at the MSDF level.
These include
1. the creation and maintenance of duplicate tracks for the same target,
2. target splitting,
3. target merging,
4. same identity-code for different targets, to name but a few.
The correlation/association algorithms used in an MSDF process are key to
ensuring against such target estimation pathologies.
B. Tracking accuracy issues
ADS-B reports, for their part, may suffer from loss of detection, position biases and
time-stamping offsets related to associated GPS functioning.
By way of consequence, these erratic track positions lead to speed-vector instabilities.
Such position “jumps” may also be caused by older data fusion techniques based on
weighted sums local tracks estimated from the individual sensors.
29. Summary
