Job title: Staff Account and Payroll Clerk
Job Duties: QuickBooks, Paying customers taxes and
employees. Keeping their books in balance
Her ultimate goal this year was to touch no taxes. (Which she
managed to do.)

Ana did not want her picture taken so Esmund stepped in to do her job.
12. Kristi’s Responsibilities
• A typical day in the office may include filing tax returns,
copying, filing, answering phones, creating spreadsheets,
drafting letters to tax authorities, bookkeeping or payroll
services.
• Tax research allowed me to learn new skills and help a
client with a stressful situation.
• During the course of tax research I compiled a spreadsheet
to sort tax forms and draft a letter to the State Tax
Authority.
• I learned that in Accounting you research skills are key.
• Get organized! Otherwise mistakes will follow.
• Working with many types of accounting activities helped
excite me about continuing my education.
13. •Preparing Tax papers for clients to file taxes, Balancing clients accounts in
QuickBooks. Paying Federal and State taxes for Clients payroll, Paying payroll,
Answering phones.
•I did not like any task more than any other that I did. I did prefer to do/ learn more
about tax preparation because I ultimately want to be a CPA.
•Having to create excel spreadsheets for all of the receipts we got I was able to show
my creative side with excel.
•New knowledge, everything I learned about preparing taxes was fun and exciting to
learn.
•The only problem that I encountered was that when calling the IRS be prepared to be
frustrated and not get anyone on the phone due to the budget cuts in the IRS.
•Working at such a small firm makes me want to continue to work at a smaller firm
instead of working at big firms.

15. Summary
I found the internship to be extremely helpful in guiding my educational planning.
The experience that I gained helped me pinpoint my interests and formulate a
educational path to help me achieve my career goals. -Kristi
