works, tech needs to make sure the artists’ needs were all met and that the
exhibition is nicely placed. Set up and took down the venue.

Communicated with faculty artists and tech crew to prepare stage sets and
programs for their shows. Recruited and trained green room attendants and
drivers for guest artists. Oversaw student producers to produce shows.

designer, costume designers, a graphic designer, a lighting designer, and
videographers. Scheduled musical and tech rehearsals. Worked on lighting and
costumes with designers and created them. Discussed with concert staff about
programs, venues, and other concert production issues. Designed the poster and
the program with a graphic designer. Promoted the event via social media.

Reserved flight tickets and accommodations for the candidates visiting for the
audition. Communicated with candidates regarding their needs for audition,
teaching demo, flight and accommodation.

10. Recruited a guest artist from Japan. Managed guest artist’s schedule and acted as
a translator for him during his stay on and off the stage. Organized three
workshops collaborating with a university, a Japanese school, and local non-profit

Recruited Japanese musicians for the projects. Coordinated rehearsals, coached
composers about Japanese music, and introduced the Japanese Canadian

SHORT BIOGRAPHY—
A certified semi-Master of the koto with the koto name of Koju(光壽), Kozue has performed and
participated in various collaborative performing arts in North America. She also plays the Jiuta
Shamisen and the Shinobue. in addition to her numerous performances and collaborations with
various artists of diverse cultural backgrounds, she has a strong interest in exploring the
potential of Japanese traditional music and performing arts. Kozue has recently built an
interface on the koto to expand the koto’s potential beyond producing traditional sounds, such
as creating processed sounds/noises, animations or collaborating with other instruments,
performers, and digital arts through technology.
