 The background is a short but very important part
of research process. Conventionally, it should
include 2 pages. Yet it is the foundation of the
whole research. This requires research must have
knowledge what to write and how to write.
 A Well-written research background should have
four themes. These are historical, theoretical,
conceptual and contextual.

would be explain.
 Historical perspectives:-
 Give brief history of your IV and DV,according to
global picture, continental and national.
 Conceptual perspective:-
 Give a briefly meaning of your variables that is cause
and effect( both standard and operation al definition)
 Contextual perspective:
 Give briefly information about the situation current on
IV and DV how thins are or what is the situation now
based scope of study.

 A well-written a theoretical theme should be:
 Identify the theory and its author
 State the theory.
 State the major tenant o the theory
 Explain the theory
 Justify the choice of the theory.

 Research problem is conducted because
there is a problem. However, not all
problems are research problems. A problem
is an obstacle to the attainment of a desired
state. In other words, a problem is a
discrepancy between the actual and desired
state. ( specific problem )

 Problem Statement and the statement of
the problems:
 Problem statement is a concept, it portrays
OR Show the fact that a research has a
problem and the problem has a certain
Universal characteristic. The statement of
the problem is a description of a particular
problem in a particular research. What is
stated in academic research is the
statement of the problem.

 Statement of the problem have contain one or
two prographs.the following indicators must
appear with in problem statement.
 Mention the specific problem(DV)
 Mention indicators (signs or symptoms') of the
problem
 Mention dangerous of the problem (DV) i.e the
negative, effect or consequences i.e. if issues going
on it will lead to hazard.
 Mention the possible causes (IV) of the problem
(DV)

 Example of problem statement:-
Community living in Hargiesa, somaliland failure to get
enough water, and existing scarcity of water party of districts
in the city, the sings of this problem like queuing, people buy
the water by water tank, tanks appear in front of the houses,
and 40% the population reside in Hargeisa have not sufficient
water, the dangerous bring this problem are death, revolution
lead to the country to become war.
The possible causes of this problem are poor equipment,
unskilled manpower, and population growth, the cause which
examine the researcher is population growth with in this study
and the choice of this one is the possible cause to this problem
and also researcher will seek the gap if existed or not.

 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY CAN BE TWO:-
 GENERAL OBJECTIVES
This study will determine the correlates between IV and
DV in local community Hargiesa, Somaliland.
 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
1. To determine the profile /characteristics of
respondents in terms of age, gender, education level
work experience, etc.
2. To determine the level of cause (IV).
3. To determine the level of problem (DV).
4. To determine if there is a significant relationship
between the level of IV and DV.
