CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
Level II Fieldwork
University of Michigan Health Systems – University Hospital
o This fieldwork was in the inpatient rehabilitation setting working primarily on the spinal cord
injury team. During my fieldwork I was responsible for developing treatment plans,
performing evaluations and skilled interventions for multiple diagnoses including: Transverse
Myelitis, Electrical Burns, TBI, Spinal Cord Injuries, Cervical Myelopathy, Guillain-Barre,
ALS, Polymyositis, Stage IV Decubitus Ulcers,Multiple Sclerosis and Spinal Fusions. I
presented to the rehab team on a review of research related to robot-aided rehabilitation and
virtual reality and how it relates to an increase in function in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
Methodist Children’s Home Society
o Methodist Children’s Home Society is a residential facility for youth who have been
physically and sexually abused and/or neglected. The population consists of boys between the
ages of 9 and 19 years of age. During this fieldwork I was responsible for developing and
instructing groups on independent living skills. My responsibilities included administering the
Casey Life Skills Assessment to all youth over the age of 14 and developing an independent
living treatment plan for youth corresponding to the results of the Casey Life Skills
Assessment. Common diagnoses seen here were:ADHD,oppositional defiant disorder and
bipolar disorder.
