The National Alabama League: Former
Crimson Tide players taking over the NFL
Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake are just two NFL players who attend Alabama games when they can.

When the Dallas Cowboys selected University of Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough in the
seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft, it ended a very long draft drought for the program.
Although linebacker Lee Roy Jordan is considered a legend with both the Crimson Tide and the
Cowboys, Scarbrough was the first Alabama player drafted by the franchise since defensive back
Tony Dixon in 2001 (second round).
But then the Steelers did one better. Defensive lineman Josh Frazier, the 246 overall pick out of
256, was the first Alabama player drafted by Pittsburgh since defensive back Deshea Townsend in
1998 (fourth round).
Every other team in the league had drafted at least one Crimson Tide player since then.
As of Sunday night, there were 55 former Alabama players listed on NFL rosters, which included
the record 12 picks over the weekend and one undrafted player who has already signed with a
team, defensive back Tony Brown. A handful of others are expected to join him (and are listed in
parenthesis in the team section).
Only three NFL teams don’t have at least one Alabama player on the roster.

Carolina isn’t the team with the longest active streak of not drafting an Alabama player, it’s actually
third. The Philadelphia Eagles last took wide receiver Freddie Milons in the fifth round in 2002, and
the Denver Broncos selected wide receiver Triandos Lukein the sixth round in 2004.
Here’s who was listed on NFL rosters as of Sunday evening — alphabetically, by team and for
