The document discusses Kevin Hefferan's internship portfolio for his summer 2015 internship at STAR 105.5 & 103.9 THE FOX radio station. It describes some of his responsibilities which included pulling "air checks" of listener interactions, creating "copy points" for on-location broadcasts to keep talent on track, and putting together "event re-caps" with photos and descriptions for business sponsors after promotional events. Examples of a copy point sheet template and event re-cap are also included.

3. Air Checks:
Air checks are pulled to
save on air
conversations or
advertisements. This is
an example of an air
check I pulled of a
listener winning
Wisconsin Dells passes.
4. Copy Points
■ Copy-points are what the station uses
at remote broadcasts to keep the on-
air talent from saying too much (or too
little!) when they were on air. I would
make copy point sheets for the talent
using liners, which were the
advertisement used to promote the
event. I would run through the liner
and other event information to find
the who, what, where, when, why and
how. From there, I would type up a
document that clearly states the
location of the event so listeners
know the area we will be, what the
station was giving away (concert
tickets, weekend passes to the
Wisconsin Dells, etc.) or what they
could win from the location we were
at. (Example to the right).

5. EVENT RE-CAPS
Event recaps were put together to send to business owners pictures of their
event and a description of what happened during their event. The next two
slides are examples of event re-caps that I put together as an intern.
6. Many people showed up to Courtesy Buick GMC to
participate in a $7,000 Backyard giveaway. Qualifiers to
win waited nearly two hours to find out who the winner
would be. Qualifiers were entertained with games and a
chance to view their prizes!
7. Thank you to the numerous businesses that donated
to our Fourth of July Backyard Makeover! Our winner
is excited to put all of the decorations and fun into her
NEW backyard!
