come from military families, and often come and go throughout the school year. I taught general music
to each class for 45 minutes, once a week. Each grade level had a Spring Concert with vocal and

for keeping tract of the daily sales and communicating with other Yankee Candle stores within our
district.

* Holland Elementary School consists of students from pre-K through 6th grade. There are only
about 70 students that attend this school. Each grade has only one class. Pre-K and kindergarten share a
room, with kindergarten in the morning and pre-K in the afternoon. All classes are combined. The
combinations are as follows: grades 1 and two, grades 3 and 4, and grades 5 and 6.
2. The music position at this school is only 20%. I taught general music and chorus. Each class has general
music once a week for a period of about 45 minutes. The Chorus met during the recess break. This is a
30 minute block.
I was required to put on two concerts in the school year. All of the students in the school participate in
the concerts. Each general music class performs one or two songs. The chorus performs three or four
songs. Holland Elementary School also has a band, but this is part of the after school program and is run
by another music teacher. The concerts typically open with the band. Each concert is about an hour long.
Brighton Elementary School August 2010 – July 2013

* Brighton Elementary School consists of students from pre-K through 8th grade. There are only
about 100 students that attend this school. Each grade has only one class. Two of the classes are
combined age groups. There is a K/1 class and a 2/3 class.
The music position is only 60%. I taught band, chorus, and general music. Each class has general music
once a week for a period of about one hour. There is no scheduled time for band or chorus to meet as a
whole. The band consists of students from 5th grade through 8th, and the chorus consists of students
from 2nd grade through 8th. These groups meet once a week for 25 minutes in small groups by grade.
I was required to put on two concerts in the school year. All of the students in the school participate in
the concerts. Each general music class performs one or two songs. The band performs about five or six
selections from the standards of excellence band book. The chorus performs three or four songs. Each
concert is about an hour long.
