INTERESTS Some interests of mine include cooking, baking, reading, photography, art
(drawing/painting), and sewing. I also love nature, and going biking, swimming, hiking,
camping, and canoeing. I also love working and playing with children.
VOLUNTEER
EXPERIENCE
• I am a member of a committee called Faithworks, which is a subcommittee of CRWRF.
This consists of attending monthly meetings, as well as helping lead short term
mission/SALT trips whenever the opportunity arises. (Mexico once with group, once on
my own, and once leading. Kentucky one with group, once with leading, and leading
again this coming March)
• Currently I am doing my ES programs required placement at an Elementary school. So
although this is a requirement for my education at Mohawk College, I am able to
volunteer at after school things like homework club.
• I try to volunteer at an organization called “Christian Gleaners” whenever I can. This is a
non-profit organization that has fresh produce donated to them, which they have
volunteers to chop up and then dry it and bag it to make soup mix to send to third
world countries.
• I lived at an orphanage in Mexico called “Casa Hogar Dulce Refugio” for 3 months.
While volunteering there I mostly looked after the children that were not in school, but
when I was not doing that I would do whatever needed being done. Example.
Construction, painting, or cutting hair, I did it all…and it was a blast!
• Work with/for my mom at catering functions, serving and preparing food.
• Helped at Streetlight Ministries for “Kids Club” which is an after school program for
underprivileged children ranging from the ages of 5 – 12 years old every Wednesday
afternoon for four years (2007-2010)
• I was a cook help at Campfire! Bible Camp and I also attend most work days the camp
has.
