• Don't write Mr, Mrs or Miss in front of your name
• Don't write names in capital letters
• Don't use lots of different typefaces (fonts) and sizes
• Don't use lots of capital letters, italics or fancy typefaces
• Don't use coloured paper
• Don't make your covering letter more than 1 page
• Don't make your CV/resume more than 2 pages
• Don't give lots of irrelevant or unimportant information
9. TIPS
1. Your work as daily worker, internship program, LO at events, etc. can be acknowledged as
your work experience. Do mention them all on your CV.
2. Highlight your achievements and what you have done on your previous or current job which
related to the job you apply for.
3. Change your CV to match each job you apply for.
4. Adjust or align the skills and experience to what the employer is looking for, based on the
position you are applying for. Check spelling and grammar.
5. It is okay to apply for a new job while you are still working for other company or still have a
job.
6. Instead of waiting for a door opened, sometimes knocking a door first is what you need to do
to get to your dream future.
