2. What is global warming?
Global warming is the gradual increase in the
Earth's overall temperature. It is the long-term
warming of the Earth's surface. Global warming is
caused by an effect called the Greenhouse effect.
3. Greenhouse
Effect
Greenhouse effect is the effect of
greenhouse gases such as Carbon-
dioxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide, water
vapour present in the atmosphere to
trap heat to help keep the Earth's
surface warm. Greenhouse gases are
important as without them, Earth's
temperature will decrease and will start
to freeze.
4. Greenhouse Effect
The greenhouse gases
present in the atmosphere
act as a blanket by trapping
the heat reflected by the
Earth's surface to keep the
Earth warm. But increase of
greenhouse gases will result
into more heat being
trapped which contributes to
global warming.
