ï‚· Taught AP Chemistry from 2005 -2008 in Bladensburg High School Maryland .The very first year yielded a
pass percentage of 20%.This was because of the individualized differentiated instruction that was done by
mentoring promising students outside school hours.
ï‚· Was a part of the team of teachers who conducted a countywide AP Chemistry reviewsession in May 2006
ï‚· Was one of the team members tasked to create the mid-term exam paper for PG County, MD in the year 2007.
Innovative technology
ï‚· Implemented the RAFT (Role, Audience ,Format and Topic) strategy of teaching Science by having students
assume the role of an electron.
ï‚· Used the flipped method of teaching classes by posting Podcasts of new lesson on a website called Edmodo where
all students could watch the podcast and get ready for a newlesson next day.
ï‚· Used various technology strategies like paper slides (students working in groups of 3) to prepare a video
presentation of the topic, Educreations (an App using which students can write and read and record a topic),
IMovie where students make a movie on the topic.

widespread in the department. Sometimes paper slides were used as a test grade and since it was a favorite

IIT (Indian Institute of technology).Specialized tutoring was given to interested students who wanted to test
for IIT entrance. As a result on an average about 10% of the students secured admissions in well renowned
engineering colleges like IITevery year.
ï‚· Taught 10th grade students for the ICSE examination. : I.C.S.E. stands for Indian Certificate of Secondary
Education. It is an examination that is conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate
Examinations for Grade X.
3. Academic Excellence
ï‚· Audio visual techniques were used to teach most concepts. Wherever possible students were actually
shown the models that we are talking about .Students would also listen to lectures from famous
professors about the topic at hand.
ï‚· Students practiced Close Reading strategies and were asked to take turns and read in class.
ï‚· Wherever possible Science labs were conducted.

and 12th
grade students had regular weekly labs of 3 periods (Approximately 3 hours)
ï‚· Regular annual Science fairs were conducted where important Chemistry demos were set up at various
stalls with students conducting the demos like vanishing ink, color changes by indicators, Electrolysis of
water and such like.
