PROJECT DETAILS
Project # 1 – GE ACFS Financial mainframe costing system
Description – GE ACFS [Aviation Costing Financial System] financial costing system is a Project to develop, support and
maintain the manufacturing cost system of GEAE supply chain. It is an integral part of GE aviation, which is division
within General Electric Company. CMS is a sub system of GE Aviation, which records and maintains the Cost of all GE
aviation manufacturing units. STAS is a special tools that handles the Special tooling and Acquisition at GE aviation
business and GPS is the tool that handles Government properties.
CMS
Cost management system is an application that maintains the cost of Commercial engines and its parts and maintains the
variance cost based on overhead recovery pool. Cost of engines, spares etc., will be maintained in DB2 tables, Costing of
parts will be booked in General Ledger and batch reports will be stored in INFOPAC. Other financial systems like
Military, AERO refers the cost of parts from CMS.
STAS
Special Tooling Acquisition System is an application that maintains the Special tools used at GE AVIATION
manufacturing unit and its Acquisition in separate Account Distribution Numbers. All the tools details are stored in IDMS
areas and STAS refers the overhead cost details from CMS.
EMCS
Engineering Management Control System is an application that maintains the GEAE development projects budget and
forecasting. Each projects are maintained with specific DAN’s and costing of expenses will be done with the help of CMS
and all the Budget forecasting is maintained in an application named PMCS at mainframe and reported at COBRA, an PL/
SQL interface.

3) Develop/ enhance codes for new projects.
