7. Weightlifting Gloves For a Gym the promotes and advertises fitness, its selection of fitness equipment is slim.

Advertising and Merchandising Gold’s Gym is great at advertising work out/weight loss aspect of their brand, but not so outstanding at advertising the rest of their product as a whole which would be the work out gear, the supplements, and the clothing The Merchandising was not so great either. The displays ranged from decent to horrible. The crazy part is that the public buys all of Gold’s Gyms products so frequently that we are constantly out of stock. With more effort with the advertising and the display of all the products that the gym has to offer, not just the equipment or improved fitness, Gold’s profit could increase dramatically.

Strengths and Weaknesses Strengths Great Location- Surrounding the Path everyone must take to work out The supplement stands look appealing to the eye and are always well stocked Weaknesses Almost Complete Lack of Advertisement Clothing look unappealing and scarce The lack of workout aides- gloves, belts, towels, ect.

The End If Gold’s Gym spent as much effort advertising and merchandising their supplements, clothing, and drinks as they do the fitness/workout aspect they would be an all around beast in the fitness world. I chose Gold’s do to the fact that I work their 6 days a week and am able to see their strengths and weaknesses every day. Hopefully the new Gold’s (where the old Kroger on the West Side used to be) will improve on some or all the their Advertising and Merchandising Failures.
