Firechat is a chat application, which can work even without internet where there is no network coverage. It is helpful in the areas where our mobile communication fails to work.
2. Introduction
Now a days science and
technology is developing a
lot.
We are communicating with
distance people through
phones.
3. Introduction
In our present mobile
communication system,
mobile phones are
connected with base
stations.
Base stations are connected
with Base station center.
BSC are connected with
MSC(Mobile Switching
Center).
4. Infrastructure mode
This type of communication
mode is known as Infrastructure
mode.
In this our mobile phones are
connected with the access point.
i.e. base station .
5. Scope of Fire chat
But, when the base stations fails
to work, our communication
system will collapse.
Specially, the base stations will
fail during natural disasters, like
earthquakes, floods, etc…
In such a case we are unable to
communicate.
6. Scope of Fire chat
The best solution for this
problem is Fire chat.
Firechat is an open-
source, real-time chat
application developed by
Open Garden.
7. Scope of Fire chat
Open Garden may have
found the next version of
internet.
Firechat enables us to
communication among
large group .
The most special thing
about Firechat is that it can
work without internet, even
where there no cellular
phone coverage.
8. Working of Firechat
Firechat chat works based
on Wire less mesh
networking.
A wire less mesh network is
made up of radio nodes
organized in mesh topology.
In this wire less mesh
network each node is
connected with other nodes
through radio link.
9. Working of Firechat
In this wire less networks
the packets from source are
hop from one device to
another until it reaches to
destination.
Here the source is
represented as “S” and
destination is represented
as “D”.
10. Working of Firechat
But these wire less
networks can cover only
a limited area.
Because it’s transmitting
range is less.
So, our Firechat will
cover the area up to 70m.
11. Extending the range
If the destination in the out
of the transmitting range of
source, it is not possible to
deliver the data to the
destination.
In order to deliver the data
to the destination out of the
transmitting range of
source, Firechat is operated
in multi hop ad hoc mode.
12. Extending the range
In this ad hoc mode we are
not connected with the
base station or access
point.
This mode allows us to
communicate with other
mobile stations directly
without any operator.
13. Extending the range
This multi hop ad hoc
network is used to
transmit the data for
the long distance
users, out of the
source transmitting
range.
In this the packets are
hopping multiple
times from one node
to another until it
reaches to destination.
14. ,
Connect and share
Firechat uses the Bluetooth
and Wi-Fi in our mobile to
directly communicate with
other mobiles.
For connection establishment
it uses the Bluetooth.
15. Connect and share
But it’s data rates are low.
So, it is difficult to transfer
the large files.
To transfer the large files
from one device to another
Firechat uses Wi-Fi.
So, we can transfer large
files like Images, Videos,
etc…
16. Scope of Fire chat
This Firechat is more useful in the
situations like
Iran’s protest
Chennai floods
17. Advantages
It provides communication
even with out cellular phone
coverage.
It works without internet.
As the No. of users increases
it will increase it’s range.
19. Conclusion
During natural disasters so many people are ceased at some
where.
They are unable to communicate with others.
In some worst cases they may loss their life.
In such cases our Firechat helps us to communicate with
others and saves our life.
