The 3D model containing the coffee shop and part of the Merchiston Campus was first
upgraded with Autocad Architecture to be imported then to 3d studio. The upgrade adds
geometry (design) of the coffee shop to the existing 3d model. Presented above is an image
showing 3D view of the coffee shop model in Autocad Architecture.

And that is how the 3d model looks like with all the layers unfrozen. One can see on the image
above the whole south link above the coffee shop sitting on existing columns.

The image above also contains view of the coffee shop model in Autocad Architecture.
This time however it’s the top view that exposes the coffee shop layout.

And that is how the same model looks like, after applying to it new materials, in four

Also kitchen space was furnished and sanitary areas has got their appliances.
Because of lack of time both the two visualisations above and those on the previous slide were
made with default 3ds Max light settings.

However the final visualisations were made with the proper light settings to enhance their
graphic quality.

The final graphic result was achieved with the use of mental ray renderer.

And visualisations of the building exterior show that some existing areas around the structure,
like sidewalks and pavements, were replaced in 3d model with new ones as part of the new
design.
