Handmaid of the Lord
an association of young girls in the Immaculate
Conception Parish, Mataasnakahoy, Batangas.
According to ancient Jewish custom, the Blessed Virgin
Mary was only 12-14 years old when she was betrothed to
Joseph. Thus from the age at which Jewish maidens
became marriageable, it is possible that Mary gave birth
to her son when she was about thirteen or fourteen years
of age.

3. Having said this, the Immaculate Conception Parish under
the pastoral care of Rev. Fr. Aurelio Oscar B. Dimaapi, as its
parish priest and Rev. Fr. Andreen Castillo as its Parochial Vicar,
together with the Parish Pastoral Council will be recruiting
young girls ages 9 to 15 years old, the same age the Blessed
Virgin Mary pronounced her “fiat”. ( Latin: Let it be done
)
The group of young girls like you will be the young
counterpart of the Associacion de Inmaculada Concepcion
de Mataasnakahoy that would help propagate the devotion
to our patroness, Nuestra Seňora de la Inmaculada Concepcion.

4. The recruitment of young girls that will showcase their
tender love to Mary as their mother, will be beneficial as
the parish continues to prepare for the celebration of its
90th Founding Anniversary as a parish, this December 8,
2022. It also coincides with the preparation for the
Solemn Episcopal Coronation of the 148-year-old image
of the wooden image of the patroness of the parish.-

 These handmaids will be a good addition to the
growing number of devotees and witnesses to the
maternal care of our patron.

6. Behold I am the handmaid
of the Lord ( Luke 1:38 )
is the response of the young
Mary as she was visited by the
angel Gabriel during the
Annunciation. She later added, “
May it be done to me
to your word.”
( Luke 1 : 38 )
Which indicated her strong
response to the will of the Father.
Thus, the young girls will be led
to that same faith just as how
Mary professed.

7. Lucas 1: 26-38
Ipinahayag ang Pagsilang ni Jesus
26 Nang ikaanim na buwan ng pagdadalang-tao ni
Elizabeth, ang anghel na si Gabriel ay isinugo ng
Diyos sa Nazaret na isang bayan sa Galilea, upang
kausapin ang 27 isang dalaga na ang pangala'y Maria.
Siya ay nakatakda nang ikasal kay Jose, isang
lalaking buhat sa angkan ni David. 28 Lumapit ang
anghel sa dalaga at binati ito, “Magalak ka! Ikaw ay
lubos na kinalulugdan ng Diyos. Sumasaiyo ang
Panginoon!”

8. 29 Naguluhan si Maria sa sinabi ng anghel at inisip
niyang mabuti kung ano ang kahulugan ng ganoong
pagbati. 30 Sinabi sa kanya ng anghel, “Huwag kang
matakot, Maria, sapagkat naging kalugud-lugod ka
sa Diyos. 31 Makinig ka! Ikaw ay maglilihi at
manganganak ng isang sanggol na lalaki, at siya'y
papangalanan mong Jesus. 32 Siya'y magiging
dakila at tatawaging Anak ng Kataas-taasang Diyos.
Ibibigay sa kanya ng Panginoong Diyos ang trono
ng kanyang amang si David upang 33 maghari sa
angkan ni Jacob magpakailanman. Ang kanyang
paghahari ay walang katapusan.”

tanong ni Maria.
35 Sumagot ang anghel, “Sasaiyo ang Espiritu Santo at
mapapasailalim ka sa kapangyarihan ng Kataas-taasang
Diyos. Dahil dito, ang isisilang mo'y banal at tatawaging
Anak ng Diyos. 36 Hindi ba't ang kamag-anak mong si
Elizabeth ay baog? Gayunma'y naglihi siya at ngayo'y
ikaanim na buwan na ng kanyang pagdadalang-tao kahit na
siya'y matanda na, 37 sapagkat walang anumang bagay na
hindi kayang gawin ng Diyos.”
38 Sumagot si Maria, “Ako'y alipin ng
Panginoon. Mangyari nawa sa akin ang iyong
sinabi.” Pagkatapos, umalis na ang anghel.

10. OBJECTIVES
1.To help increase the devotion to our Blessed
Mother through locally revered image of
Nuestra Senora de la Inmaculada Concepcion
de Mataasnakahoy.
2.To enrich the faith and provide proper spiritual
guidance of the children under the pastoral care
of the parish of Mataasanakahoy.
3.To prepare future pastoral servants of the parish

11. SPIRITUALITY AND MISSION
The young members are expected to lead a spiritual
life. They should be willing to serve the church and
join its activities especially that pertain to Mary.
They are at least expected to be well versed in
praying the Holy Rosary and other Marian prayers.
 They are to join the First Saturday Devotion to our
patroness and may offer flowers to her miraculous
image.

12. PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
They are to be instructed with the basic
prayers particularly the Holy Rosary.
They will receive Catechetical Instruction
and workshops that would deepen their
basic knowledge of our Catholic faith.
They will join the First Saturday devotion to
Mary and offer flowers to her.
