2. The purpose of films is to create a profit. They
do this by trying to entertain the audience so
that the film will become a big hit, however
film making is a massive gamble.
3. The initial stage of film Making is that the
producers and director gets together and sets a
budget on which they will cast actors pick a
location and see how much money they have
for stunts etc..
4. The most important person in the film making
process is the Producer this is because he has
100% control over the film unless someone
buys the film out right then they make
whatever decisions they want, but if the film
has a 50/50 share then the producer takes full
control.
5. A film producer oversees and delivers a film
project to the film studio or other financing
entity, while preserving the integrity, voice and
vision of the film. They will also often take on
some financial risk by using their own
money, especially during the pre-production
period, before a film is fully financed. Many
film producers also have competency in other
fields (directors, screenwriters, actors) but that
is not always the case.
6. Let's hazard a guess. The movies you loved
most featured characters that swept you
up, who captivated your emotions, got you
involved. The audience viewing a movie not
only wants to be interested in and care about
the people they see on the screen, they want to
be PASSIONATE about them, whether they
like them or not. Great heroes and heroines
inspire us; great villains make us want to jump
into the screen!
7. They then need to develop the scripts and cast
the final actors and location they also need to
make sure they know where there budget is at
and what they can do to prevent them going
over it.
8. Many producers go to big studios to see if they
can fund their films if the studios decline then
they have to look elsewhere within regions of
their country or a rich single man or women.
