• Chipola Junior College, Marianna FL—Associate of Arts degree (Engineering), 1999
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Enironmental Specialist III May 24, 2013 – Current
Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumers Services (DOACS), Food Safey Laboratory
• Performed all duties within ISO 17025 Accreditation
• Analyzed food samples for Lead residue to determine if present and at what levels.
• Analyzed food and drink samples for Arsenic residue to determine if present and at what levels.
• Analyzed food samples for Sulfites if present and at what levels.
• Analyzed food samples for adulteration of meat with other meats.
• Analyzed food samples for presence of Cyanide as a part of FERN needs.
• Helped to maintain the Proficiency Testing Program that provides tests for the large variety of
methods performed in the laboratory. Also had to maintain list of who needed what tests so as to
fulfill both the ISO17025 and A2LA requirements.
• Maintained the Artel Pipetting Program. Each person in the laboratory has to demonstrate
competence in pipetting annually. This is performed by everyone being involved in the regular
recalibration of the large number of pipettes throughout the laboratory.
• Trained in the Paradigm3 software in depth so as to be able to help others in the event an
administrator was not present to assist them.
• Used or became competent in the use of ELISA, bioplate reader, ICP-MS, and ICP-OES.
• Assisted in the maintenance of the Inventory and Maintenance programs.
• Performed backup of instrument files to the isolated network.
