Job Description
During the first year in this titled position <employee’ name> will be developing and implementing a multi-tiered
community involvement campaign. Employee will need to have strong personal and organizational skills. Will
have to communicate well with all departments of Suwanee Animal Hospital: Reception, Kennel, Medical, and
Administrative as well as communicate effectively with yet to be determined community infrastructures. i.e.
Schools, Hospitals, other Corporations, Government (where applicable). Employee will need to occasionally
brainstorm with Jon any other viable initiatives that are not listed within this document.
After the first year we will evaluate the progress of the different programs and initiatives. Come up with a plan to
better meet all of our goals. And hopefully, we will also be transitioning into a maintenance phase for the
Community Development Project Coordinator.
While outside Suwanee Animal Hospital’s facility, employee will need to have a magnet for their car and be
wearing either a SAH shirt or a name-tag. Appearance should always be professional and approachable.
Always keep business cards or business magnets at your disposal, give them out freely to your contacts and
their associates.
The new Community Development Project Coordinator will sometimes be required to work the reception counter
or call center. Employee will be required to cover short falls in scheduling and fill in for sick employees. There
will be times when this position will require a different work schedule, like staying until closing hour to
indoctrinate volunteers and explorers or like working all weekend to run an event.
Employee will receive a company Cell Phone (probably with unlimited minutes in US). Employee will be
encouraged to use this cell phone even when on site to encourage more direct relationships with her community
contacts. Employee will be reimbursed for any gasoline used to visit Schools and such. If employee is required
to make a purchase while out, a receipt must be turned in for reimbursement.
Pre-Requisites
Degree required: Biology, Chemistry, Public Relations, Communications, or any Business Degree. Candidate
will need strong personal and organizational skills. Extra Curricular activities, Clubs, and Organizations on
resume will be considered.
Compensation
Position will start at $35K and will move to $45k at 18 months. Cell Phone, Uniform Allowance, Reimbursement
for gas receipts upon completion of Drive Log (company vehicle may be available for use on occasion).
<begin Jon’s notes>Need to determine a schedule or a way to keep tabs on this employee’s new position.
Things like, she must report to work first before calling on schools, unless prior approval. Will she be required to
clock in and out every time she leaves the building? Things like this, I am sure there are more. Also at 1 year,
We may also want to change the title at this time to something slightly different like Community Liaison, or
Regional Liaison, or Public Relations Liaison, or External Human Resources. Maybe research larger
corporations to see what they are calling positions like this. Employee to have available to them the company
vehicle?<end Jon’s notes>
