3. The 4C’s Of Leadership
(a value system)
Character (consistency): People who are not consistent are displaying
character flaws, they often lack competence and commitment also.
Competence (commitment): People who lack commitment are displaying a
lack of competence, character and consistency and are often not trusted by
others.
Courage (confidence): People who are not confident often lack courage, does
not use candor and lack connection with others.
Candor (connection): People who have a problem with connecting with others
usually lack candor, courage and confident which make it hard for others to
follow them as a leader.
4. 4C’s Character (Consistency)
• Perhaps one of the greatest of the all the attributes
of leadership
• Measures the moral qualities of a leader
• These values are the medium thru which all
decisions flow
• Character enhances “Trust” throughout the
organization

followers)
• Must possess optimism – great outlook
• Must display self-control (especially in time of
trouble)

• Courage means to take responsibility for one’s
actions as well as their behavior

• Confidence exhibits signs of being happy
• Often confidence is connected to a can do attitude

say, believe and especially what they do

• Candor is similar to courage but is often related to
speech
• A Leader is only as good as the words they keep
• Candor may be use in a tactful way in order to be
effective
• Candor is based with the truth as its core

** Communis and communicare' are two Latin words related to the word
communication. Communis is noun word, which means common,
communiality or sharing. Similarly, communicare is a verb, which means
'make something common.
