Granada is situated on the shore of Lake Nicaragua, was formerly the capital of Nicaragua and undoubtedly still
the country's tourism capital. From its past it retains the colonial aspects which attracts so many tourists world
wide.Near the city are the 365 Islands destination of thousands of tourist and locals for their natural beauty,
breath taking views and a spectacular backdrop of Mombacho Volcano, that gave birth to the Islands of Granada.

5. Islands of Granada
All of the islands are covered with lush vegetation, rich with bird life. Many of the islands are occupied,
most are privately owned or vacation houses to the wealthiest families of Nicaragua. There are facilities
for residents and for tourists. Hotels and shops are established on some of the islands, boating and
airplane tours are available.

the Asese peninsula.
They are of volcanic

cone into the lake,
thereby creating the
archipelago.
