ProfessionalConsultant,IdesignedanddevelopedPersonal Netware. This allowed customerstohave
a networkof a fewcomputers,andas theygrew,to move tofull blownNetware.The same client
software wasusedonboth systemssothe move wastransparentto enduser. This implementedthe
same data specificationsasfull blownNetware. This wasone the few systemsthathad no bugsever
foundand identifiedin the initial release.
Unisys1983-1993

VT220 protocol to workwith UNIX system. Ichangedterminal tohandle all 5 levelsof TCP/IPprotocol. I

Wicat System1983
I designedandre-wrote Frontendof FORTRAN compilertoaddfeaturesandremove 230 complaints
that were writtenagainstthe Universityof Berkleycompilerthey hadacquiredbecause itwaspublic
domain. I made itintoa worldclasscompilerandgotthemout of a lawsuit.
Sperry1973-1983
SeniorProgrammer I designedanddevelopedUTSCOBOL, whichturneddumbstandalone terminal,
whichreceived protocol fromthe mainframe,intosmart terminal whichranstandalone programsat
the terminal. Thiswasa newconceptto off loadprogrammingto the terminal. Thisdevelopedintoan
earlynetworkthatallowedupto32 terminalstoshare data and programming. These programshad
implementationaroundthe world.
BYU 1970-1973

co developedUTSCOBOL,whichallowedstudenttosubmitCOBOLprogramsinbatch processing
reducingthe costand turnaround for studenttosubmitprograms.

Utah Transit Authority1985- 1993
Consultant I developedanddesignedacompletepackage toreplace asystemwhichwasantiquated
and outof date,not functioningwithanyreliability. Itwas basedina PC, whichafterinitial bootup,
replacedthe DOSoperatingsystemandinterfacedwiththe BIOS. There were multiple boardsinthe
system,eachwithitsownoperating system,capable of running128 differentcommunicationlines and
17 processors runningin parallel. Itinitiallycommunicatedwith aVT220 terminalswhichwere later
replacedwithmultitaskingPC.
