and saving you money.
REMOVE FREE, EMULSIFIED, AND DISSOLVED WATER
Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and low level of moisture is
an essential part of lubrication and component life. Through proper
oil dehydration, our customers can protect their equipment from the
harmful effects of water by removing free, emulsified, and dissolved
water as well as entrained air and gases from the oil.
• Turbine oil
• Paper machine oil
• Gear oil
• Hydraulic oil
• Compressor oil
• EHC fluid (Fryquel and other
phosphate esters)
• Diesel Fuel
• Waste Oil
• Heavy Fuel Oil and Bunker
Fuel
• Transformer Oil
• PAO Fluid
APPLICATIONS
• Extends useful life of
lubricant
• Prevents degradation
• Removes Harmful
Contamination
• Decreases downtime caused
by equipment failure
• Savings on cost of replacing
lubricants
BENEFITS
Water is one of the most common contaminants in a lubrication system. The presence of water promotes foaming,
sludge formation , corrosion , accelerated oxidation, and additive depletion. These effects reduce the oil’s overall
effectiveness and lifetime and lead to pre-mature equipment failure.
Achieves overall water content as low as
20 ppm, removing free, emulsified, and
dissolved water
The left sample is before vacuum dehydration. It contains
1800 ppm water. The right sample is after vacuum
dehydration. It contains 100 ppm water.

WATER’S EFFECT ON BEARING LIFE
Water has many negative effects on the overall performance of your system; however, bearing life is significantly reduced
when water has contaminated a lubricant. Bearing Manufacturer SKF has shown 1/10 of a percent of water or 1000 ppm
will reduce bearing life by 75%.
NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF WATER CONTENT
• Presence of free bulk water linked to surface corrosion
• Reduced lubricating characteristics (Load carrying
ability)
• Thermo-oxidative stability. Oxidation ultimately leads to
higher viscosity and deposits
• Hydrolysis, results in acids and alcohols, leading to
increased corrosively
• Deposition characteristics (soot, coking)
• Premature additive depletion and additive precipitation,
impacting fluid performance

By reducing the moisture content in oil from 5000 ppm to 100
ppm, rolling element components can potentially last 7.8X longer.
The following chart shows the potential useful life extension of various
mechanical components as the result of oil filtration. By filtering in
service fluid from an ISO 25/23/20 to an ISO 16/14/11 or better, the
life of hydraulic pumps and other components is extended by over
1000%.
