In nearly 15 years as Software QA Engineer, I have lead testing on a variety of
e-commerce and community web platforms, in both desktop and mobile
designs, as well as Windows desktop applications, and specialized hardware
control interfaces. I have developed and maintained functional and regression
test scripts, supervised testing done by employees on specialized systems, and
performed user interface reviews with developers, business owners, and end
users. I specialize in manual testing, but also build automated test scripts using
Selenium, Node, and Javascript.
I started as a QA Analyst at Global Crossing, on the strength of my computer
skills and hands on experience with several areas of the company’s business.
There I tested internal administrative applications, customer service tools,
and customer facing interfaces, and supported the engineering group in
developing new features and deploying new hardware. I was responsible for
creating and maintaining test plans for a dozen different applications. I also
worked with developers and end users to help communicate feature
requirements between the groups.
After joining Gaiam, I worked on the company’s e-commerce and community
platforms. I led testing on several major projects, including two platform
transitions and the deployment of responsive designs for all the e-commerce
websites, and worked with internal and vendor development teams on new
features and integrations. I was also an administrator for our Demandware
system, responsible for managing deployments and incident response. I
worked with groups from customer service to company executives to
coordinate feature development and delivery, communicate risks and
expectations, and ensure the best customer experience possible.
My work on such a wide variety of projects lets me apply my skills to almost
any project. I look forward to speaking with you about my what I could bring
to your organization at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
Joseph Helfrich
