This poem celebrates fathers on Father's Day, recognizing both biological fathers as well as father figures. It acknowledges that some fathers are absent from their children's lives but can still find joy in treasured memories. The poem urges all fathers to stay connected with their children and make them smile, as a child's heart is too precious to lose.
1. Happy Father’s Day
You’re my friend but not my father
I know you how much, you love your child
Many fathers are missing their children
Treasured memories, still make them smile.
It’s like the love of the Holy Father
That kind of love, only God has made
God is the Father of all his children
His wonderful love that will never fade
So I am thinking of you on Father’s Day
Thinking of your child, is not yet a crime
Remember your child, will become a memory
Then you’ll think, how you spent your time.
Poppy, you are the head of your family
Through life you will see how your child grows
They will show you the fruit of your values
Because within them the real you, in them shows.
So Happy Father’s Day, to all you fathers
Some of whom, may not always be home
A child heart is just too precious to lose
Make your child smile, just pick up the phone.
