Calling all bakers! America’s Baking and Sweets
Show is coming to the Renaissance Schaumburg
Convention Center Hotel Nov. 11- 13. Enjoy exploring
vendor booths and watching cooking demonstrations
from celebrity bakers on the show’s main stage.

Baking demonstrations and hands-on classes are
scheduled throughout the weekend.Those interested
in increasing their marshmallow making skills,
acquiring more holiday cookie recipes, or learning
how to make a whole grain puff pastry can register
in advance for these or other baking demonstrations.
Expert bakers and a few of the show’s featured
celebrities will teach these demonstrations and
hands-on classes. Spots are filling quickly, and
Joanna Miller, director of business development for
America’s Baking and Sweets Show, recommends
reserving a spot online in advance.
“For a nominal fee, you have access to these
amazing instructors and talent,” said Miller.
Elise Strachan, of the popular brand My Baking
Addiction, headlines the show and will be featured
on the main stage on Saturday and Sunday at 12:30
p.m. Strachan said she’ll being showing patrons
how to make rustic and fall-inspired desserts from
her new cookbook, “Sweet! Celebration.” She’ll be
signing copies all weekend and those who bring
purchased copies of her book to the show will be
admitted for free.
“I think it’s amazing to be able to connect with my
fans personally and also for them to ask me real-time
questions as I’m making something and get a real-
time response,” said Strachan.
Five other celebrity bakers will grace the main
stage over the weekend, sharing baking tips and
tricks for any occasion, from a dinner party to a
festive holiday gathering.
“Sally McKenney, Rushion McDonald, Sarah Owen,
and Shauna Sever are celebrities who will also be
teaching classes,” said Miller.
Many of the show’s celebrities are social media
stars with upwards of 6 million followers or expert
chefs, of which some own restaurants and bakeries.
Sally McKenney of Sally’s Baking Addiction will be on
the main stage Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Shauna Sever,
of the award-winning baking blog, Piece of Cake, and
regular Today show contributor, will be on the main
stage Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Emmy-award winning
television producer, Rushion McDonald, will be on
the main stage Friday at 12:30 p.m. and Saturday at
11:30 a.m. Pastry chef Malika Ameen will speak on
Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Sarah Owens, owner of BK17
Bakery in Brooklyn, NY, will also be featured on the
main stage. Miller said main stage times are subject
to change.
“You might be a social media follower of Elise,
Shauna or Sally, or make their recipes at home, but
now you can to see them in person,” said Miller.
The show’s vendor section features baking
gadgets, ingredients, and sweets and baked goods.
Competitionsincludingtheweddingcakecompetition,
themed cake competition, and Home-Baking Recipe
competition, run throughout the weekend
All attendees have the opportunity to enter to win
the show’s Grand Prize giveaway – a Bosch Pocket
Handle Dishwasher 500 Series. Bosch Appliance
and Novak and Parker Home Appliance will draw the
winner on Sunday.
