THE PITCH: WHAT CAN WE DO TO IMPROVE SURGICAL SERVICES
AWARENESS AMONG OUR UNDERPRIVILEGED
COMMUNITIES?

2. INTRODUCTION
5 billion people do not have access to safe ,affordable
surgical and anesthesia care when needed.
some of them do not even know they can be treated
surgically
To reach global surgery delivery we need surgical services
availability, affordability and awareness among stake holders

3. PROBLEM
• Gerard a 45 years old man who is a teacher at primary
school, he developed a right eye opacity and ignored it
because the right eye was still functioning. Now it has
been an year that his right eye is blind !
• The problem is he was not aware that his condition can
be surgically treated.

4. SOLUTION
Training community health workers
Make an application for community health workers to
report incidences
