2. CMS was created to address the needs of Colleges that train students for medical
careers. Careers in health care have health testing requirements; requirements that
can vary by employer, by state and by county.
Our medical provider teams consist of Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners,
Registered Nurses, certified medical assistants and certified phlebotomists. All of
whom are trained and focused on providing your college with the best possible care.
We bring health management solutions to your campus.
College Medical Services, Inc. (CMS) is an on-site

3. • Complete School Contact Forms – Career Services and Education. This process can
be done over the phone or during initial meeting.
• Determine Career Services Onsite Coordinator – This person is responsible for
pulling together the names, personal data and testing needs of the students. This
information is submitted by completing a student sign-up sheet and emailing it to
CMS. “College Medical Services”
• Select dates – bi-weekly, monthly or every other month. Our normal testing cycles
are Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday. We normally try to schedule other
local Schools or Corporate Clients during the same week, so students can make up
missing tests or have their TB test read.
• Schedule meeting time with Education Department. Careful coordination is needed
to prevent unnecessary class interruption.

Sign Up Sheet – Testing Confirmation
• A completed Student Sign Up Sheet needs to be
sent to CMS 2 weeks before the testing session.
• Once sign up sheet is received, CMS will review and
lock testing into schedule.
• Normal confirmation is within 72 hours. Sign Up
Sheets sent to CMS on Friday will be confirmed by
close of business on the next regular business day.
• In addition to the students name and appointment
time, CMS requires several other pieces of
information that are tied to student notifications and
our EMR system.

Changing Testing Schedule
• While additional students can be added, we ask
that adjustments be kept to 20% or less. This allows
us to coordinate the appropriate level of staffing for
the group size.
• If testing grows beyond 20%, just give us a call and
we will work to satisfy all needs by increasing our
onsite staff or when necessary by adding an
additional testing session.

Day of Testing – Onsite
• Most students are pulled in 1 hour time blocks
• Usually 5 to 6 student per hour, depending on the
amount of testing being completed.
• It is always helpful to have a student worker
throughout the testing session to assist other
students with required onsite education and forms.

Day of Testing - CMS
• We provide everything except the students.
• We normally arrive 30 to 45 minutes before testing begins.
• We need 1 good size room or for greater privacy two rooms side by side.
• The testing area needs to be close as possible to a bathroom.
• The career service representative or student worker needs to coordinate
students in testing area.
• Pulling students from the classrooms on an hourly basis seems to work well,
providing better operational control and less classroom interruptions.

Test Results
• Most tests are ready within 72 hours.
• Certain drug tests may be delayed, if a Doctor review is required.
• While most background checks are back within hours, certain checks may
require additional verification taking up to 24 hours. Level 2 Fingerprint
verifications take 4 to 5 to be fully process by FDLE, FBI and ACHA.
• Once tests are ready, CMS will send the results to the school’s listed
contact, via a secured and fully HIPPA compliant email with PDF files of tests.
• In addition, CMS will manage and maintain all medical, drug and
background data. This information will be available to the student with
proper identification, if they need it for another employment opportunity.

Student Preparation
• Students should be notified of pending
testing on several occasions to increase
attendance and lesson placement problems.
• As taught in class, being well hydrated
makes drawing blood and collecting urine a
much easier process.
• Hydration starts the day before testing.
• Please drink plenty of water.
