It's the climactic pod blooming – a scene that was (wisely) cut from Epic (aka. Leaf Men). When our heroes finally get the pod into the moonlight, it blooms, revealing a cute little baby inside! The director hated it. We tried about three or four more times to make a better baby, each even more creepy than this, the first edition. In the end, we went in another direction.
