Jessica Pankratz decided to start her own real estate business after many years working for an entrepreneur in San Francisco. She was drawn to real estate because it offered both independence and security working with a larger company, while also allowing her to help people directly. Pankratz got her real estate license in 1995 and worked for Frank Howard Allen Realtors in Marin County, where she had an amazing mentor. In 2005 she moved back to Oregon and joined Town & Country Realty, which she appreciated for being locally owned. In addition to her real estate work, Pankratz is actively involved in her community through organizations like the local Humane Society. She aims to continue growing her business while maintaining her community
1. After many years working for a
successful entrepreneur in San Francisco,
Jessica Pankratz decided it was time
to make her own name in the business
world and was searching for the perfect
opportunity to strike out on her own. “I quickly realized
that real estate was the only industry that gave me the
independence I was seeking, while still offering me
the security of working under the umbrella of a larger
company. It also provided me the opportunity to help
people and have a direct connection with them, which
was something that was important to me.” Pankratz
got her license in 1995 and was recruited by Frank
Howard Allen Realtors in Marin County. “I had an
amazing mentor there which really allowed me to hit
the ground running.”
In 2005, Pankratz moved back to Oregon and found a
home at Town & Country Realty. “After my experience
with Frank Howard Allen, I knew I wanted to work for
another company that was locally owned and operated.
I love the idea that all the profits are shared locally and
thegoodwillthatiscreatedtakesplaceinthecommunity
that I represent. I also enjoy the team aspect here, we
work together and we advertise together as a company.
It creates a non-competitive environment within Town
& Country that I believe allows everyone to thrive.”
Pankratz offers her clients all of the best services
available, including professional photography, state-
of-the-art technology and comprehensive marketing
plans, but it’s her ability to earn her client’s trust and
her reputation for honesty and integrity that have truly
made her a standout in the industry. “As a Realtor, it’s
easy to point out the beautifully redone kitchen or other
selling points, but I try and focus on all of the things
that should be a concern now and the things that could
be a concern down the road. I want my clients to be
excited, but I also want them to take a step back and
really understand what they’re getting into.”
Pankratz’s educational approach to real estate sales has
also led to her teaching first-time home buyer seminar
classes at a local credit union, “Even if the people
attending don’t eventually work with me, I believe
having educated consumers ends up being of benefit to
everyone in our industry.”
In addition to her busy career, Pankratz is actively
involved in her community. She is currently the
president-elect of her local Humane Society and is
an avid bird rescuer. She has been named Volunteer
of the Year by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office and
the Jim Linhart Citizen of the Year by the Albany
Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2014, she was also
recognized as a Five Star Professionals Real Estate
Agent and has just been recognized again for 2015.
Pankratz plans to continue growing her business, but
it’s her ties to the community and the relationships
that she builds with her clients, that will always be her
main motivation. “The thing I love most about what I
do is working with people. You go through this whole
process with them and become part of their family for
a short period of time. Real estate combines all of my
passions, helping people, community service, learning
and using my knowledge to then educate others. Even
after 19 years, I’m learning something new every day
and that is very fulfilling.”
