25 years of automotive brand protection experience including managing the Ford of Europe brand protection team covering the
European Union, bordering countries including Turkey, Russia and Israel. Leading and instructing on all various types of trademark
infringement and enforcement actions.Programme involves franchise audits,supplier investigations,parallel trade, counterfe its and
aftermarket investigations. Sole control over given budgets to cover both manpower and legal costs enabling an effective and
sustainable process.Currently manage a team of eight and instruct legal teams in all countries under my control with the cooperation
of coordinating external counsel. I have developed my current position over the last 12 years to an expert level and am extremely

Royal Navy 1976 – 1990
Joined the Royal Navy at 16 years of age, rated Leading Seaman Radar in 1982 and Petty Officer Radar in 1986.
Ford Motor Company – Security 1990 – 1991
Basic security duties at distribution centre
Ford Motor Company – Security Investigator 1991 – 1999
New position to investigate parts loss in 1.7m square foot distribution centre. Initiated and developed investigation processes with
management and guards plus processes for working with unions and union workforce. Fundamental in establishing working
procedures with nearly formed brand protection department.
Ford Motor Company - Brand Protection Specialist 1999 – 2001
Investigate Brand Protection issues in the dealer and aftermarket networks. Establish processes for resolving such issues, take
appropriate actions for enforcement, franchise compliance. Liaise and work with internal and external counsel.
Ford Motor Company – Brand Protection Manager, Land Rover Jaguar 2001 – 2003
Establish Fords brand protection programme into Land Rover, Jaguar and other members of the premier automotive group. Develop
the programme throughout the dealer network, convert Ford procedures to suit environment and build an operational working setup.
Investigate all areas of trademark infringement and take appropriate enforcement and settlement actions.
Ford Motor Company – Manager Brand Protection 2004 – current
Operating within a fixed budget to maintain an efficient cost effective brand protection department. Implemented new working
practices to cope with changes in business,legislation, parallel trade and the internet. To understand and then educate parties in to the
requirements of enforcement of trademark matters in various countries. Instruct internal counsel and instruct and supervise external
counsel in all stages of action. Developed working processes with enforcement agencies to achieve maximum success. Established
practical security in packaging and labels for identification of counterfeits.

Accomplishments
