Consulting on client-specific issues related to compliance with the Affordable Care
Act (Health Care Reform), ERISA, HIPAA privacy and security rules, COBRA
coverage continuation requirements, laws governing consumer-driven health care
arrangements (such as health reimbursement arrangements, health savings
accounts and other defined-contribution health plans), applicable nondiscrimination
rules under the Internal Revenue Code, and various employment laws impacting
employee benefits, including wellness programs (e.g., FMLA, ADA, ADEA, GINA,
etc.);
Assistance in developing and implementing “best practices” relating to
administering employee benefit plans in order to minimize potential liability;
Client seminars on pertinent legal issues, such as Health Care Reform, HIPAA
Privacy and Security, ERISA Compliance (including plan document/SPD
requirements), recent legal developments impacting employer provided health and
welfare benefits; and
Periodic communications designed to inform clients of legal developments and
their impact on employer sponsored plans in “plain English.
