INDEPENDENT LIVING
SKILLS PROGRAM
Department of Children and Family Services
(DCFS) youth in foster care are mandated to
complete an independent living skills program
before they reach their eighteenth birthday.
Southeastern Independent Living Skills
Program serves DCFS and Office of Juvenile
Justice (OJJ) youth ages 14-21 in the Florida
Parishes: St. Tammany, Tangipahoa/St. Helena,
Washington, and Livingston.
We conduct group sessions using a 32 hr
curriculum based on the Casey Life Skills
Assessment (CLSA) model.
The curriculum is based on eight CLSA
domains:
Daily Living
Self-care
Relationships and Communication Skills
Housing and Money Management
Work and Study Skills
Career and Education Planning
Looking Forward
Permanency
Independent Living Skills also offers case
management to young adults from 18-21 years
old.
