2. What is my Mission?
The website is: In-Office Carpal Tunnel Release (IOECTR).
The primary goal is to promote and educate surgeons and
administrators on WALANT, OBS, and IOECTR and help them
negotiate fair overhead reimbursement for OBSS procedures
where the SOSD = zero. While the focus is on ECTR the concepts
and strategies will apply to other SOSD=zero procedures.

documentation checklist on our website. That will get you
started and it’s easy to discuss in a kick-off meeting.
It is an Excel Spreadsheet.
From our initial feedback the negotiation process is not that
complicated if you’re prepared. Simply focus on the cost savings
to the insurance carrier and negotiate a fair rate.

• The Reimbursement Guidebook is set up in two Sections:
• Section One: Explains the issue and negotiation tactics and
strategies. It includes a lot of descriptions of terms for those
new to reimbursement.
• Section Two: For those new to WALANT, OBS, and setting up
an OBSS.
• Information changes constantly so always check with local
building codes, state medical boards, your accountant and
healthcare attorney any regulations that impact setting up an
office-based surgical suite. The Guidebook is over 75 pages.
