WORK EXPERIENCE
1997-present Freelance Photographer
For about 5 years, I primarily shot fashion for Dillards Visual, the large in-store posters and
other collateral (see my website).
My client list had also included American Airlines, JC Penney, Harold's, and other smaller clients.
I started in 1996, assisting many professional commercial photographers while I worked at
various other jobs and got my degree in photography. Started shooting freelance jobs/tests
while working with one of my professors at UTA in 1997, and have been at it ever since. I still
love to assist to keep myself up-to-date and fresh. I am a member of ASMP (ASMP.org) here in
Dallas. I learned far more from assisting in the real world of commercial photography than I
ever did in school. I am technically proficient when it comes to lighting equipment, camera
systems and techniques. I have become proficient in the use of software, mostly Photoshop,
Lightroom, Aperture, and Capture One Pro.
2. 5/2001-12/2001 Barton Creek Resort/Conference Center, Austin, Texas
Primarily an audio/visual tech, I also handled all photographic matters. BC has some impressive
equipment in the A/V department, and I learned a great deal about it. Met and worked with
many interesting people, some celebrities, and had a good deal of personal responsibility.
2/2001-4/2001 Marriott at the Capitol, Austin, Texas
Brief stint as an A/V tech here, business got really slow, and I had to leave due to hours being
cut to next to nothing.
2000-2001 Prestige Portraits
Studio/location photographer for this portrait studio in Austin, Texas. Primary clients were
higher-end High School seniors, but also worked with families and couples. The studio was
somewhat limited in resources, but I came up with new lighting rigs and techniques and came
away with some great shots. Built on my people skills, as well. We were making a lot of money,
but due to management problems, they cut our budget and I was the last hired, so the first
fired.
1996-2000: Visual Communications Co.
Duties included delivering and installing audio and video equipment and supplies. Some
customer service with established and new clients.
1994-1996: Star Equipment Co.
Duties included maintenance, repairing and servicing vehicles for T.U. Electric.
1991-1994: American National Supply, Inc.
Duties included filling orders, packaging, shipping orders via UPS, delivery/pickup, some
engraving/etching on pens and glass. .
1990 and 1991 (summer job):
Pipeline Maintenance for Tarrant County. Maintained water pipelines that run from Cedar Creek
Lake and Richland Chambers Lake to Fort Worth. Good deal of tractor work, 4X4 use to get to
3. remote places, developed keen sense of direction and was self motivator.
SOFTWARE TOOLS
Previous Experience: Adobe Photoshop, Premier, and Illustrator. General knowledge of OS X in
the Mac platform, and Windows. These days to be a good digital photographer, you have to be
