of Hartford’s, "Hartt Conservatory." Being awarded with "The National
Endowment for the Arts", "Surnda Foundation Talent Scholarship, as
well as, the "Freidrich Schorr Fellowship in Opera" and "Norma Terris Fellowship
in Musical Theater", He has appeared in over 15 major operatic and musical
theater title roles, being particularly proud of having starred as silent film legend,
Rudolph Valentino, in an American Musical Theater debut of "Lover, The Valentino
Musical," presented by The Westport County Playhouse.
Being influenced by his Chinese godmother, a Feng Shui master from Hong Kong,
Jason absorbed the basic tenants of this “ancient art of object placement and life
well-being.” In addition to which his parents’ family owned / operated a successful

Nyack, NY. This reality educated / surrounded him by every age of furniture and
style of Objet d'Art. It was at this time that close family friend, Abstract
Expressionist Legend, Theodore Stamos, youngest of the last, most important
movement of this style, “The Irascibles,” noticed Jason’s great sense of form and
color from a very young age. Stamos advised Jason’s parents to make Jason head designer,

As Lead Designer, Merchandiser and Stylist of Zenstaging, his most recent
work is a flowing example of the gentle balance between the ancient art of
Feng Shui and our modern day aesthetics as seen on display at "1stDib’s"

today’s internationally acclaimed museums. It was from that point that Jason’s parents relied on
his natural abilities to keep the store in a state of constant, beautiful
presentation and produce major holiday and monthly window installations
from concept to completion, honing his art of Feng Shui tablescapes, etc.
During his time at Opera Conservatory, he began working closely with
internationally acclaimed set designers in the world of Opera and Theater, all the while studying Art
History and Arts Business Management. Their techniques and dramatic sensibilities made a huge
impression on Jason and can be seen in his approach to
interiors. Among his credits include a 5- year mentorship by
Operatic and TV Legend, Brenda Lewis, who was a
personal friend and student of, none other than, Interior
Designer visionary, Tony Duquette. No one could ask
for better influences!
For 8 years while supporting himself through college, and then for some time
after, his earliest hands-on experience occurred as an expert interior and
exterior house painter, specializing in renovations and new spaces. His talents were quickly noticed
by the company’s owner and in no time, promoted to head designer of Jamer Decorating, Inc., it
was then that he began to master color and technique.
Finding that the world was no longer lending itself to Opera, it was a natural and
organic fit / progression, as well as, a new found passion to work in the creative arena
of interiors, design and event production / installation. For 15 years he has been
creating, as well as, producing spaces for public and private events and staging
homes for private clients throughout the United States, including the New York
Metropolitan area, Washington, DC; San Francisco, CA; Phoenix, AZ and South Beach, FL. Before
and after examples of his work can be seen at: www.facebook.com/zen.staging (See attached look-
