2. Well first of all this disorder isn't anything like schizophrenia unlike
schizophrenia this disorder is developed through trauma in one’s life. As
for schizophrenia you are born with that. Okay , Now what is Multiple
Personality Disorder exactly well this disorder is when a person
develops two or more distinct personalities, But isn't a case of being
bipolar the personalities the person develops are each well integrated
and well developed, with its own habits, memories, and learned
behaviors. (Sometimes called "split personality," ) if there was trauma
in this persons life when he/she was seven years old by lets say like
being thrown in a swimming pool and not knowing how to swim .
However the person reacted at that age he/she will act like that
through out their life when they visit a pool place. So basically it is a
disorder that you develop through life experiences and how ever many
personalities you have depend on how much trauma you experience and
your mind alternates between these personalities when put back in
those old situations.
3. There are many different patterns of multiple personality
disorder these patterns become more complicated as the
number of personalities increases.
The most common pattern or pattern one is when two or
more identities alternate with one another, each having
amnesia for the thoughts and actions of the other.
A second pattern involves a dominant personality and
submissive personality the dominate as you would know is
very controlling and controls the person's behavior, As for
the submissive its fully aware of the thoughts and actions
of the dominant personality and continues to operate
subconsciously but from time to time it makes its presence
felt through various situations.
4. So pattern one was when a person alternates between their
personalities.
(Shirley Mason) Abused by her mother throughout her
childhood Shirley's mind protected her by splitting into
various personalities to absorb the experience and shield her
from the disturbing memories. In all, sixteen personalities
were identified in her mind.in 1954 she got psychotherapy
help from Dr. Cornelia Wilbur who diagnosed her with
Multiple Personality Disorder. Two years into the practice
Shirley became aware of her sixteen personalities and the
control they had over her. With a few more years of help and
control all the selves integrated into one and turned Shirley’s
life around and Shirley discovered that helped also heal while
trying to get well.
