Yale Medical School & Yale School of Public Health New Haven, CT
Research Nurse September 2012-Present
Orchestrate research studies focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne disease.
Optimize subject enrollment and data collection, train research personnel, and ensure compliance.
 Utilize Good Clinical Practice (GCP) to develop, design, and implement procedures for each research study.
 Train research teams at various study sites across New England to ensure the efficient execution of each
project. Tailor the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to the demands of each study site in order to
optimize subject enrollment, data retrieval, and specimen processing.
 Identified, obtained consent, and collected medical history from over 500 subjects for multiple studies.
Followed-up with subjects according to protocol standards.
 Conducted large repository collections at an island study site endemic for tick-borne disease. Assembled and
trained a team of research personnel to enroll subjects and to collect, process and test specimens.
 Design data collection materials to ensure consistent, complete and accurate data retrieval from subjects
enrolled at a variety of medical settings.
 Created a database that ensures accurate data entry, retrieval, and analysis. Enter subject records and
specimens in the database. Track monetary disbursements to subjects.
 Monitor each research site through effective communication to ensure that quality assurance standards are
met.
 Contribute to protocol development for submission and renewal to the institutional review board (IRB).
 Ensure continued compliance with the IRB by monitoring policy changes related to human subjects,
informing the clinical research team of the changes, and incorporating the changes into the research
protocol.
 Maintain accurate and ethical reporting of adverse events.
 Implemented state regulations and safety protocols in the laboratory. Passed 100% of all laboratory
inspections.
 Learned and improved laboratory techniques to perform in-house laboratory testing.
 Trained and supervised research assistants to enroll subjects into studies and to perform various laboratory
techniques on collected specimens.
