SickKids is one of the most prestigious pediatric centers in Canada and the largest child health research institute. Their four innovation goals are to create a culture of innovation, facilitate new ideas, ensure innovations are shared, and explore commercializing opportunities. Currently, innovation is occurring in silos at SickKids, which this presentation aims to address by driving a culture of collaboration across the hospital, businesses, and community. Preliminary research profiles the current approaches to innovation at SickKids, other hospitals, and businesses. It also examines a "Maker Faire" event promoting hands-on learning and patients as experts. The next steps are to analyze a second stakeholder meeting and provide recommendations.
