PartnerRe has diversified over 25 years from primarily writing catastrophe reinsurance to offering holistic insurance and reinsurance products globally across all classes. While growing to over 1000 employees and $8 billion in capital with close to 3000 clients worldwide, PartnerRe has remained nimble. Three years ago, PartnerRe transitioned from public to private ownership, allowing it to take a long-term view in growing with clients by taking on earnings volatility through private ownership's focus on partnerships over short-term profits.

PartnerRe has diversified its business in all classes and geographies of insurance, with a
unique position in a number of Specialty product lines.
From a small and nimble company, to a larger yet nimble company:
In 1993 we had 10 employees and 1bn capital, and 100+ clients. In 2018, we have more
than 1000 employees, 8bn in capital and close to 3000 clients around the world
From public to private ownership:
Three years ago, after 22 years of being a public company, we changed ownership to
become privately owned, by owners who see the value of reinsurance and long-term
ownership. At times when all our clients aspire to find reinsurers:
- who can take on the volatility of their earnings
- who can take a long-term view of growing the business together,
Private ownership is a clear advantage. It lends itself really well to our business and the
way we think about partnerships with our clients.
