Party that has express or implied authority
to act for another so as to bring the
principal into contractual relationships with
other parties.
5. A principal can have a couple of meanings and is the one used
more commonly in business documents. In one sense a principal
refers to a senior individual, the principal of a school or a principal in
a business

according to the law to which he is subject,
and who is of sound mind, may employ an
agent.
