The Indian stock market recovered most of its losses by the closing bell, with the key Sensex index closing flat after being down 2.21 points during the day. While the Sensex closed flat, the S&P CNX Nifty index closed up 0.28%. Trading volumes increased as futures and options contracts were set to expire the next day. Analysts attributed the market volatility to ongoing corrections not supported by strong fundamentals as well as upcoming contract expirations.
