EVENT UPDATE: OCTOBER 2015
LOCKITAUNG CAMP
Lockitang is located in Turkana County, in the northwestern
part of the Republic of Kenya, close to the International borders
with Ethiopia and South Sudan.
OYM (One Youth Ministry – Africa) is proud to be in ministry in the Turkana region. We were
recently joined by Rev. Captain Eliud Ekadeli of the Anglican Church-Turkana, as we
ministered and trained in Lockitaung.
Early in September, we were privileged to conduct trainings in various places in North Rift
Kenya (Turkana Community). We had the opportunity to carry on trainings in various places
in the Turkana community. Through the courtesy of our Missionary in the area, we mobilized
various churches and communities in the areas and with our guest, Kil YooNje, from South
Korea, we were privileged to do the training of one thousand, five hundred adults, young
people and children in Lockitang area.
We trust that, with this training, this community
will be able to work hard and come out of their
current situation. At the same time, we appeal to
friends to support us as we organize for them a
Christmas that they know other people
experience but have yet to know themselves. Besides monetary gifts, we also welcome
donations of clothing, bed sheets and food.
A separate training event with over 600 attending

Other than training these beautiful people, we remembered Matthew, chapter fourteen
reading from verse fifteen following (Matt. 14:15-21) “As evening approached, …they all ate
and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces…” This
became reality to us last month. We fed over seven hundred people the food we had
prepared for five hundred people and we even
had enough leftovers for people to take back to
their homes! God still does miracles in the
twenty-first century.
We saw the hand of God and the training
become reality of God at work. Please stand
with this community in prayer and support.
Please be aware that Islam is targeting such communities and in just a few years, mosques
have appeared here in the Turkana region with
visitors increasing in numbers every day.
Come Sunday, we were able to minister to over
four hundred people and continued our mission
to the Lockitaung area. We had a powerful
message and over two hundred people
received Christ as their personal savior.
The following day we went to Lake Turkana where we introduced the programs and ministry
opportunities we are doing at OYM- Africa. Other than that, we were able to train them in
Community Health Evangelism. This will equip and empower them to bring peace to all
fishermen and fish mongers along the Lake. We finished the training with a focus on

Conclusion
We are committed to empowering young people in 3Ds, which is basically economic
empowerment for young people, Community Health Evangelism, Economic empowerment,
Vision Conference, Training in farming God’s way, Training people to learn to read and write
and so many other programs as they are stipulated in our website.
OYM- Africa, depends on donors 100 % and this is the most area that is hindering us to do
more trainings, empowering and reaching, we therefore, humbly urge you to see it fit to
partner with us. We value you and look forward to hearing your positive response of support.
Thank you.
Together for Christ,
Jackson
