  3. 3. India ranked 4th as World’s most “Dangerous Country” and 115th on Women Empowerment Meter. •It is estimated than more than 10 million female foetuses have been illegally aborted in India. India stated that 500,000 girls were being lost annually through sex selective abortion. •It was estimated by India's Central Bureau of investigation that about 90% of trafficking took place within the country and there were some 3 million prostitutes of which 40% were children. •In every 22 minutes there is a rape in India. •India is ranked as the worst G20 country after Saudi Arabia •According to United Nation Population Fund Report, around 2/3rd of married Indian women are victims of Domestic Violence. •Female worker participation rate as of 2009- 2010 was 18% and 16% in 2011-2012 in the rural areas . •In rural areas ,wages per day for women is far less than the wages of men. •India falls in the lowest quartile with respect to the number of women in parliament(9.1%). •Over 8000 cases have been registered all over India for Domestic Violence. •53% girls think it is right for her husband to beat her.
  4. 4. PROPOSED SOLUTION :Introducing a Government authorised organisation which will deal with the Safety and Empowerment of Women. About the organisation This organisation will be women centric. It will have all the powers to protect women against domestic violence and punish the accused . It will provide all sort of assistance(job, financial support, security etc. ) It will educate, train and spread awareness to the women . It will inculcate the feeling of leadership and assure equality among the two genders. A 24X7 Cab facilities will be provided by this Organisation for women. Implementation • •Volunteers will travel to the rural areas to educate and impart skills training to earn their livelihood . •Volunteers will organize workshops in schools to train the girls for Self Defence . •To implement the cab facility feature the organisation will appoint women drivers who does not have shelter and need job. •The cabs will be powered with Cameras and GPS facilities. •There will be sub branches of the system all over the nation that will provide every facility. Advantage over existing system •There is an immediate need for the formation of this kind of Organisation. •This will definitely assure Women Security and Empowerment in every aspect.
  5. 5. Professional Volunteers will be elected by the organisation Professionals who excel in Self Defence techniques will be elected to train women so, that they can securely live anywhere. Train women to drive cabs which will offer them source of employment and in turn they will be providing 24X7 cab services on the behalf of organisation and hence, ensuring safety for women. Volunteers will setup campaigns and workshops in rural areas to educate women and children . Women will be trained in various skills like stitching, crafting and basic things through which they can earn their livelihood. For Educating

Implementation Recruitment Programs Implementation • Training Period : The duration of training period will be b/w 3 to 6 months • Venue : It can be either government school or community centre or camps organised by the organisation. • Source of Training: Training will be provided by professionals and some part of work will be taught through internet. Delivering Training Programs • Programs Design: The organization will be electing professionals who will impart skills to women. • Main Modules: Educating women, teaching skills, driving, self defense, etc. • This program will help in safety and empowerment to women, and will provide the essence of equality. Implementation • The Organization will be having the feature of educating women and to keep a look on the rights of women, and see to it that the women are provided with what all they deserve and are not ill-treated. • There are many NGOs doing the same work but they don’t have the authority to punish the culprits but this being a government organization will have all such rights.

  9. 9. FUNDING REQURIED This organization is fully a government organization so the whole funding will be provided by the government initially. ORGANIZATIONAL COST LOGISTICS COST TECHNOLOGY COST CORE ORGANISATION SUB- ORGANISATION INFTASTRUCTURE COST TRANSPORTATION COST MISCELLANEOUS (food, shelter etc.) COST OF LAPTOPS COMMUNICATION COST • On an average an amount of 5 cr. Will be needed initially. • Once this organization is established as planned then it can also run through donations. • As this organization will also provide employment so the women of the organization can be asked to give 5-10% of what they earn under this organization

THE IMPACT OF THE ORGANISATION ON THE SOCIETY AS WHOLE • Women will feel safer to go out at late nights. • A higher number of women will become self-sufficient. • Increased employment rate for women. • Domestic violence against women will decrease. • Improved sex ratio. • Higher literacy rate. • More parents will feel safer to send kids to schools.

APPROPRIATE MONITORING MECHANISM AND SUSTAINABILITY • It is very important to monitor any organization, to check if it is functioning properly or not and to keep a track of implementation of all the modules carried out by the organization. • The work done by the organization will be monitored by the Head of the organization. • There will be surveys to receive a feedback about the work done by the organization. • There will be an inspection held by the organization to see the effectiveness of the organization, and to look for loopholes. MONITORING • The organization's main aim is to provide safety and empowerment to women and it will be seen that every women gets justice and is given attention when in need. • For this organization to be effective and sustainable funds are one of the main factor. • The running of this organization requires immediate attention to the problem faced by the women, if not so then there is no use of such an organization.   12. 12. CHALLENGES THAT THE ORGANISATION MAY FACE WHILE COMING UP.. Corruption at different level of society and political bodies may lead to downfall of the Organization. The project may not get sufficient start-up funds from the government and other prospects. Safety of women volunteers as cab drivers presents a challenge. A gap in passing of the laws and their implementation. Government may not volunteer to support the organization's legal issues. Society may be hesitant to participate in an all women organization. Organization may not be able to recruit volunteers.
