•Verbal Irony
•Situational Irony
•Dramatic Irony
1. Verbal Irony – is when you say
something different than what you
mean.
• Imac is walking on the corridor and he looks very sad, afraid that he
will again fail in his Math subject.
• Imac was very disappointed when he learned it, Joshua is mocking
him on his grade.
2. Situational Irony – is when the
actual result of a situation is totally
different from what we expect to
happen.
2. Situational Irony
• A day before Hannah’s birthday, she is telling her mother that her brother
Imac is very lazy and did not even help her on their household chores. The
following morning, Hannah was surprised.
• Hannah was so happy and touch with her brother’s surprises.
3. Dramatic Irony – occurs in everyday
life when a situation is happening and
yet the person within the situation is
unaware of what is happening.
3. Dramatic Irony
• Imac’s parents prepared a surprised party for him. All important
people in this life was there…
• Imac really cannot contain his happiness.
