IJ,
I would like to acknowledge your contribution to nursing. You identified the need to secure a supply of needles and
syringes as emergency supplies in the medication rooms as a high risk patient safety concern.
You took the initiative to put together a box properly labeled and stocked to serve for this purpose.
You collaborated with Anaeli Velasco, NQPC representative to Quality Council, Nancy Palyo, and me.
You took the lead in drafting the signage for the emergency medication supplies box.
We will work together to revise the medication administration policy to ensure 2 nurse verification during emergency
medication administration.
You plan to prepare materials to educate the nurses.
Thank you for taking the initiative and being so thorough on this patient safety issue.
