WHO AND WHAT
Ian Luscombe will speak for 4 Ā¼ hours
BEHAVIOUR
Ian will discuss the three major strategies for managing disruptive
behaviour with the focus being on preventing these misbehaviours
from occurring. He will discuss school culture and its impact on student
and staff wellbeing.
His particular interest is in discovering what prevents students from
getting a consistent approach from the adults who care for them, and
then working out ways to correct this. This topic will be explored.
His presentation, interspersed with humour and illustrative stories also
examines ways to mitigate the negative emotional impact studentsā€™
challenging behaviours can have on the adults who work with them.
Dr Alison Knight will speak for 1 Ā¼ hours
NUTRITION
Alison will review the current evidence of how diet affects behaviour
and mental health in children. She will look specifically at how
deficiencies in key nutrients such as zinc and vitamin B6 can also
affect behaviour.
