About the Grant
The NSW New Home Grant Scheme has been
introduced to stimulate the construction of new
homes.
It provides a grant of $5,000 towards vacant
land on which a new home will be built. The
value of the new home must not exceed
$650,000 and the value of the vacant land
must be less than $450,000.
Am I eligible?
The purchaser can be any entity, including
individuals, company or trustee of a trust. It
is available to investors as well as owner
occupiers and there is no requirement for the
purchaser to live in the home.
This grant is NOT available for purchases that
are eligible for a duty exemption or concession
under the First Home New Home Scheme or
First Home Owner Grant (New Homes) Scheme.
Payment
The payment of the grant will
be administered by way of
applying the amount of the new
home grant as a credit
against liability for duty
on the agreement or
transfer.
Any payment will be
made only on completion
of the purchase (ie the
registration of the change of
title).
