An IAPD/IPRA Distinguished Agency
August 7, 2014
To Whom It May Concern:
I have had the opportunity to supervise Heather Niziolek for the last two summers at our
beaches. This summer Heather was promoted to Beach Manager. This season’s beach
managers were challenged with three goals: 1) ensure all staff were properly trained and
confident in their skills, 2) raise operational standards, and 3) pass third party audits. Heather
played a very vital role in reaching these goals.
Managing a staff of 59 lifeguards and 15 beach staff, ranging in age from 15 years to adult,
requires a strong leader. Heather has demonstrated leadership traits such as honesty, integrity,
motivator, mentor, coach, listener, decision maker and team player. Heather worked with
several lifeguards that struggled with needed skills. Her positive approach in re-directing them
provided a motivating environment that produced positive results. Heather’s commitment and
dedication to the staff helped build a strong and cohesive team. Heather also took upon herself
to get certified as a Lifeguard Instructor and take an online managing course. She then brought
ideas and suggestions to the staff. This demonstrated her willingness to continue to educate
herself and then implement what she has learned.
In addition, Heather is a very compassionate and caring person. I strongly believe she will be an
asset to any company and or endeavor where she will continue to grow and develop.
Very Sincerely,
Kim Buscemi
